Human acquaintance in Islam

Human brotherhood in Islam

In the Islamic conception, people are brothers and sisters, descended from one descent; Which is what we find, for example, in the opener An-Nisā’:' O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwâ (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allâh through Whom you demand (your mutual rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship)[1]. Surely, Allâh is Ever an All-Watcher over you'. ([An-Nisā’: 1].

Empathy among human beings in Islam

Sympathy with the deprived of all races, and feeling their suffering is a distinctive characteristic of man and an aspect of human brotherhood, which the heavenly religions called for, "but we should not stop at mere pain, content with the feeling that we are accustomed to whenever we see a painful scene, or a terrifying sight, but we must go beyond feeling to think about things and their causes...and what things we can do."

Changing the evil in the heart

The change in the heart must prompt the person to think of appropriate solutions to the issues that concern people and disturb their lives. Otherwise, the change of heart did not occur in the first place. Because change is movement and not stillness, it must turn into tight planning and study that all specialists from various sciences and arts and countries, and races are devoted to.

Therefore, Islam invites us to get acquainted with diverse and different nations and peoples. God Almighty said: 'O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another.' (Al-Hujurat:13).

The
purpose of  people difference and their distribution into nations and tribes is "to get to know people, that is, to know each other"; This does not mean that their races, ethnicities, and cultures only be known, but it also means that they exchange among themselves the knowledge, and experiences that they have accumulated, and that they exchange knowledge among themselves; It is all kinds of good, righteousness, and benefit.

In this regard, Dr. Muhammad Rafie says: "The reality of diversity and difference between people, nations, and tribes, should lead to a common achievement of acquaintance and cooperation, including social and cultural exchange and civilized coexistence, based on equality, and without discrimination or arrogance by any party."

Collaboration between people

The message of Islam represents a universal declaration of human liberation from all forms of enslavement and various forms of humiliation and oppression.

Thus, it is a huge task and an excellent assignment, which requires Muslims to contact all people from different directions and references and try to convince them of this global liberation message, Consulting with them, and benefiting from their knowledge and experiences, to devise the best ways to assume the trust and responsibility in this international state.

The mandate to build the earth, and to oppose everything that corrupts it, is not specific to followers of the Islamic religion. Instead, it is general for all of humanity because God Almighty made man - all human beings - a “Caliph” on earth and made him the duty of trust and responsibility. He did not differentiate between the assignment between a Muslim and others, nor between male and female.

Human Citizenship in Islam

The scholar Allal Al-Fassi defines this great principle in religion, which makes all people equal in bearing responsibility: "The Legislator named every Muslim and other as an indication that human civilization in the cosmic state is based on each one's sense of responsibility… and his duties." It is the construction of the earth, and the caliphate on behalf of God is in its reclamation."

This means that the door is wide open for humanity to carry out the duty of succession on behalf of God, building the earth, and confronting all forms of corruption that the Sharia agreed to prohibit, and wise people agreed on its horror.

Allal Al-Fassi's quote is: "And that is what calls for permanent contact with human thought in its various forms, and sincere cooperation with people of goodwill throughout the world without regard for their origins or their trends...even if they did not enter Islam and did not recognize it as a divinely revealed religion."

This also requires us to think of new creative solutions and open a wide discussion in which wise people from different orientations and scholars of all kinds of specializations participate, which requires the Islamic nation to open up to the whole world and open the doors of human acquaintance with everyone, to find shared spaces for cooperation. To confront evil, people from different walks of life, and various orientations, engage in it.

The most crucial characteristic that unites all human beings and joins them - in the Islamic conception - is the characteristic of "humanity," which is innate characteristic common to all people, no matter how different their intellectual doctrines and no matter how different their philosophical or political orientations may be.

Hence, Islamic thought views the whole world as one society and people as brothers and citizens of one universal state who must meet among themselves and consult on issues that concern them to reach results that will improve their conditions and change their situations for the better.

This view, through which Islamic thought looks at the issue of humanity, "makes us move with complete clarity to an open society that seeks good from everyone for the benefit of all, and is not afraid of contacting various circles and environments, and searching with them for what helps progress and development, improve the condition of human society, and rise Every effort we make in this regard for the sake of our country and our community is considered in Islamic thought as part of the general effort made by all humanity to achieve a better world. see more here
